The Bachelor of Education (Primary) – Inservice is designed for experienced teachers who wish to upgrade their qualifications and strengthen their professional knowledge and teaching skills. The program focuses on contemporary educational practices, curriculum development, educational reforms, and innovative teaching strategies, preparing graduates to meet the evolving demands of the education sector.

This unit develops participants’ ability to teach Mathematics at the Elementary, Junior Primary, and Senior Primary levels. The Pacific Islands Literacy and Numeracy Assessment Report (July 2013) identified particular concerns regarding the achievement levels of students in Papua New Guinea in number and operations.

This unit is designed to strengthen participants’ capacity to develop engaging Science content and to effectively teach Science at the Elementary, Junior Primary, and Senior Primary levels. A strong emphasis is placed on practical, hands-on learning experiences, with opportunities to take learning beyond the classroom wherever possible.

Entry Requirements

Candidates must possess a minimum of a Diploma in Teaching from a recognised institution with 5 years teaching experience.
