Safety is never an afterthought at DWU. We pride ourselves on providing a welcoming and secure environment for everyone, and we take your wellbeing seriously. Every student and staff member across all our campuses has the right to feel safe and to be treated with dignity and respect at all.
Safety is also a shared responsibility. Everyone has a role to play, whether through your own actions or by promoting and demonstrating ethical-bystander behaviour.
From campus security patrols to emergency response protocols, DWU is committed to ensuring a safe learning environment around the clock.
If you are in immediate danger, contact campus security or call the DWU emergency hotline available 24/7.
Confidential support is available for students experiencing stress, anxiety, or any personal challenges.

We are committed to ensuring our campuses are places of safety and respect for all, and free of harassment and discrimination.
DWU has zero tolerance for sexual assault and sexual harassment. We expect all staff and students to behave in a manner that is respectful, inclusive, and fair — on every campus, at all times.
A range of DWU policies, procedures, and protocols are in place to prevent and respond to harassment (including sexual harassment), bullying, and discrimination.
If you are in a life-threatening situation, contact campus security immediately or call emergency services. After making the call, please report the situation to our Campus Security Centre.

If you witness or experience any safety concern on campus — including harassment, bullying, theft, or suspicious activity — we encourage you to report it immediately. All reports are treated confidentially and investigated promptly by the relevant campus authorities.
You can report in person at any Campus Security Office, by phone through the emergency hotline, or online via the Student Portal.
Our student residences are staffed with trained Residence Advisors who are available around the clock to assist with safety-related concerns, welfare checks, and general support for all residents.
Whether you need help resolving a dispute, reporting a maintenance hazard, or simply feel unsafe, your Residence Advisor is your first point of contact within the halls.
